How to Make a Cloth Face Mask



Early data suggests many who are infected with COVID-19 are not symptomatic, and the Mayor of Los Angeles is now recommending that Angelenos use cloth face coverings and physical distancing for essential activities. Cloth face coverings can be a scarf, or a homemade cloth face mask.


Here are a couple of tutorials we found online about how to make cloth face masks for people of all skill levels:


No Sew Methods


To make this mask, all you'll need is a bandana and two rubber bands.


To make this mask, you'll need a t-shirt and a pair of scissors.

A tutorial on how to make your own fabric face mask from common household materials.


Make a face mask from a t-shirt, no sewing machine required


Do not use surgical and N95 masks, which are reserved for first responders and medical workers.
